TIGHTROPE

“The series explores the relationship between motherhood, mental wellness and self-love. These portraits are inspired by women who somehow shared their motherhood experience with me and revealed a world of contrast, and demands.

As mothers, we are trapped between several worlds - holding it all together. We have to choose, on a daily basis, between being a career woman, a mum or a wife, and overcome by exhaustion we forget about our existence. We are fighting against a powerful institution, anxiety, and the loss of ourselves, and we need to find ways to encourage more conversation about motherhood traps, gender roles and power structures in our society”.

FROM WHO I LEARNT

“These paintings praises women who surpass the gender stereotype and the society patriarchal oppression to find freedom and self-love. These figurative portraits are inspired by females who found the freedom to make their own choices”.

FRAGMENTS

“These paintings capture snippets of one's life. The invisible fragments that have driven a person to be who she is. They intend to raise questions about social influence, feelings, thoughts, perceptions, ambivalences, stigma, confidence, and other fragments that are often ignored in one's life, despite having the power to shape our way of living”.

IMMIGRANTS, EXPATS, HUMANS

“These paintings celebrate my cultural identity and my sense of self”.
