About Vivi

Vivi is a figurative portrait artist based in South East London. She is Brazilian and grew up in one of Brazil’s most culturally lively states, Pernambuco, where she was exposed from an early age to paintings, woodcut artworks, and street art.

Vivi works in oils, acrylics, and pastels. Her vibrant colours and spontaneous brushwork were influenced by the exciting art scenes, diversity and sociocultural factors that she experienced in Brazil.

Her work is the result of her inner conflicts and philosophical and cultural movements. She applies concepts of freedom, anxiety, self-deception, interpersonal relationships, and socio-cultural matters.

Her creation process consists of two stages: writing and painting, consecutively. Her style is figurative and textured and through her ability to use bold colours and free brushwork, she brings the female figures and their conflicts to life.
