Dear World

In the beginning, when I came across the House of Dreams Museum, I knew I had found something special.

I was never brave enough to knock on its door and introduce myself to its master, despite the colourful mosaics and writings on its front wall making me feel immersed, somehow, in my culture.

The tall wall and the overgrowing plants hanging over its front garden gave me a sense that Stephen, the artist, was living in a citadel, surrounded by memories, stories, freedom, and fuel to work with art.

I don't recall the motive it took me so long to visit the House of Dreams Museum. Yet it was very magical to connect with Steve at this stage of my life, where I can call myself an artist.

Steve's creation is unique and moving. I was embraced by colours and textures and transcended to a spiritual world that made me think about faith, one's journey, sorrow, loss, and the lightness of being.

The House of Dreams is a love project. It portrays not only Steve's life but fragments of people who contributed to him being who he is. It is about encounters, continuation and perpetuation.

I am not very clever with words, but I wanted to tell Steve how significant it was to speak to him about art and fear. He encouraged me to pursue my artistry and to re-evaluate my strategies. I wanted to tell Michael I never forget those who welcome me when I need it most.
